I love shooting outdoor weddings, but there's always the risk of rain (in this country at least). Fortunately the sun shone brightly for Jessica and Ben's wedding in a beautiful Surrey garden near Gomshall - although it was a bit breezy which meant the ladies had to hold on to their hats!
I will confess to being a little nervous about shooting this wedding, as both Paul and Layla are very into photography, and were looking for something out of the ordinary. But I needn't have worried - Paul and Layla were relaxed, fun and very easy to work with!
Regular readers of my blog will probably remember I had the pleasure of photographing Julie & Tom's wedding in islington last September. So what are they doing getting married again in France? The idea was to have a very relaxed summertime celebration with warmer weather, and so that people who weren't able to come to their London wedding could attend.

Regular readers of my blog will know that I am always fascinated by the history of the wedding venues that I shoot at. Harry and Noi came up with a classic one for their relaxed and stylish London wedding - the Museum of the Order of St. John in Clerkenwell, London.
It's always a pleasure to photograph weddings at Artington House in Guildford. The registrars and staff there are always very friendly and helpful. Artington House is only an eight-minute drive from me so no stressful journeys are involved!
Very often, the small-scale low-key weddings are some of the nicest - and that was certainly the case when these two grooms (both called Benjamin!) got married at Southwark Register Office.Both Benjamins are from France, and they decided to get married before moving back there. Two good friends stood by them as witnesses, and a simple but moving ceremony was conducted by the Southwark registrars. After the wedding itself, we did some simple photos in the garden, and then I left them to celebrate.
Most weddings tend to happen in spring and summer - obviously the weather has a lot to do with that. Longer days and warmer temperatures make it easier to have events outdoors and there are fewer worries about travel. But a winter wedding has a charm of its own, especially when it involves a candlelit church ceremony, as Emma and Ollie's did. And a gorgeous and happy couple, of course!

This wedding was a special pleasure to photograph, as my nephew Tom married the lovely Julie at Islington Town Hall. Family and friends gathered including a good contingent of Julie's relations from Winnipeg, Canada.The weather decided to be a bit "British", but apart from some occasional drizzle it stayed mostly dry, for which we were all thankful!

Helen and Harj’s wedding took place at a new venue for me – the King’s Chapel in Old Amersham, Buckinghamshire. Set in its own grounds behind the King’s Arms Hotel, it’s a converted 18th century chapel. It makes a great wedding venue as it’s spacious and airy inside with plenty of daylight and has a terrace with a shady garden behind the building.
A summer's day, a happy and relaxed couple, ceremony in a pretty church in a Surrey town just a few miles from me... sounds like a plan!Claire and Matthew were married at St. Mary & St. Nicholas Church in Leatherhead, Surrey. The church is the oldest building in Leatherhead.
The English Lake District is one of my favourite places, so I was delighted to be asked to photograph Kinga and Shiral's wedding at the Lodore Falls Hotel in Borrowdale. The hotel is right next to the famous waterfall that cascades down the hillside and out into Derwent Water.
When editor Danielle Harvey of Your Surrey Wedding magazine contacted me to ask me to submit some images for possible use in the magazine I was happy to oblige. I didn't think much more about it, but was happily surprised when Danielle got in touch and said that she had selected one of my images for the front cover of the magazine's 60th issue!

Take a dash of London style, add a splash of Anglo-Indian heritage and then mix in some French joie de vivre, and you have the recipe for Stephanie and Raj’s wedding!
Their wedding was a relaxed and intimate affair with family and close friends in attendance. Stephanie’s family and friends had travelled from France and Raj’s from the UK and from India, so it was quite an eclectic gathering. Kudos to Stephanie’s parents for making an excellent speech in English! (more…)
