RMA Sandhurst Farnham Castle wedding
A perfect sunny day, a gorgeous bride and bridesmaids, some handsome men in uniform, and the stunning locations of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and Farnham Castle to work with – what more could a photographer want for a spectacular wedding?
I started the day with Ben and the guys at Ben’s parents’ home, while my colleague Bruce was with the girls. Ben was resplendent in his uniform of Captain in the Royal Irish Regiment, and his Guard of Honour (including a paratrooper and a Royal Marine) brushed up pretty well too!
RMA Sandhurst Wedding ceremony
We combined forces (no pun intended) at the Royal Memorial Chapel of the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, for the wedding ceremony. The Chapel is a magnificent building with a complicated history, which you can read about here if you’re interested.
After the ceremony Charlotte and Ben emerged from the chapel beneath the swords of their Guard of Honour, and took a short drive in their carriage around to the front of the Old College building for group photographs.
Wedding reception at Farnham Castle
Once the group photos were done it was time for the short drive to Farnham Castle for the wedding reception. Drinks and canapés were served on the lawn, and later the wedding breakfast was served in the Great Hall, part of the original structure of the castle dating back to 1180.
Later on after speeches, Ben and Charlotte cut their cake with Ben’s ceremonial sword. Then we sneaked off with the bride and groom to get some pictures up in the Castle Keep area as the sun was setting on a perfect day.

Thanks to Ben and Charlotte for a brilliant day!
