Well there's nothing like winning an award to start a new year off the right way... I was excited to get an email the other day from the organisers of the Wedisson Awards to say I had won the final round of their competition for 2015.
Primary School Xmas Fair 2015 It hardly seems a year since I was last at the Wonersh & Shamley Green Primary School Christmas Fair - and it's reminded me how…
Gate Street Barn is a beautiful and traditional country barn set in the Surrey countryside, with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. The barn is built of oak reclaimed from trees that were felled by the infamous 1987 “hurricane”.
It’s located just south of Bramley, near Guildford in Surrey – it’s one of my favourite venues and also one of the closest!
Hampshire wedding photos | Laura & Matthew
As you would expect when the bride is an event planner by profession, Laura & Matthew’s wedding ran like clockwork! The only thing that didn’t totally cooperate was the weather, which was a bit overcast and grey, but at least it didn’t rain! (more…)
Portrait session Guildford Castle | Dobson family
When one of your children moves to the other side of the world for a while it’s a big deal for most families – and Lindsay Dobson decided to seize the opportunity to have some family photos done before her daughter Robyn left for Australia. (more…)
There can't be many nicer places in the world for a wedding than the English countryside on a perfect summer's day - and that's what Kieron and Lauren were blessed with for their wedding day. The ceremony was at Banbury Register Office, and the reception in the grounds of parents' house in the beautiful Cotswolds village of Marston St. Lawrence.
Spitfire wedding flypast and aerobatic display
On Saturday I was shooting with colleague Chris Perry at a wedding in Hampshire, and around 5pm we (and all the guests) had a big surprise… an aerobatic display by a Spitfire!
Leatherhead & Surrey Downs wedding | Elle & James
You could clearly see the happiness bursting out of Elle and James as they got married at Leatherhead Register Office – with plenty of family and friends to help them celebrate at Surrey Downs Golf Club afterwards.
The 18th century Mansion in Leatherhead is a very elegant place to get married, with its mahogany panelling and classical style. After the ceremony we went outside to do the official family photos in the gardens, then everybody drove the short distance to Surrey Downs Golf Club for the reception. (more…)
It's always a pleasure to shoot at Nonsuch Mansion in Cheam. This Georgian mansion stands in Nonsuch Park, where Henry VIII used to have a palace in the 16th century. Kate and Martin's civil ceremony took place in the Orchid Room, ably officiated by the registrars from Weybridge Register Office.
Surrey Downs wedding sneak peek | Elle and James
Here’s a “sneak peek” at some of the photos from Elle and James’ wedding – their ceremony was at Leatherhead Register Office and the reception at Surrey Downs Golf Club, Kingswood.
I am busy working on editing lots more pictures from this very happy day so keep an eye on my blog for another update soon! (more…)
If I had to pick one word to sum up this wedding I think it would be "joyful". Weddings are often stressful affairs - there is so much to organise ahead of the big day, and sometimes this carries over into the day itself - but John and Jason and their families and friends sailed through it all very happily, and a hugely enjoyable time was had by all.
Hampshire engagement shoot | Laura & Matthew
Laura & Matthew’s wedding is only a couple of months away, so I thought it was time I did a pre-wedding (aka engagement) shoot for them. The idea is for me to get to know them a bit better, find out their likes and dislikes where photography is concerned, and also give them some practice at being in front of the camera. (more…)
Rugby League | Surrey Sharks vs Weald Warriors
Yesterday I drove down to Surrey Sports Park in Guildford to shoot some pictures of the semi-final Rugby League match in the 2015 London Cup between local team Surrey Sharks and Weald Warriors. As you’ll see from the photos, it was a fiercely-contested and somewhat bruising match…
Brocket Hall Wedding Anniversary Party | Sue & Richard
Sue and Richard are passing the milestone of their 25th wedding anniversary this year, and decided to celebrate in style with a party for family and friends in the very elegant surroundings of Brocket Hall, a Regency mansion near Welwyn in Hertfordshire. They asked me to come along to create some family portraits for them and document the event…
London pre-wedding shoot | Jason & John
Last Sunday I travelled up to London (courtesy of South-West Trains) to meet these two fine gentlemen, for a meeting to go over the schedule for their wedding day and make sure I get all the photos they need. The guys are getting married at the very elegant Brympton House in Somerset at the end of June – I’m very much looking forward to shooting there again, it’s one of my favourite places. And with a couple of very friendly and relaxed grooms like these two I’m sure it’ll all go amazingly well! (more…)
Guildford Cathedral wedding | Charlotte & Tom
Charlotte & Tom’s wedding was a great mix of the grand and the relaxed. They got married in the splendid surroundings of the Lady Chapel in Guildford Cathedral, then their reception was a chilled-out family affair at The Stag on the River in Eashing. (more…)
Guildford wedding photography Manor House Hotel | Tammy & James
This was a nice local wedding for me – Tammy and James were married at St. Luke’s Church in Burpham, and their reception was held at the Manor House Hotel Guildford, Newlands Corner. Tammy got ready at the Manor House as well, so that’s where I started the day with some photos there before heading down the hill to St. Luke’s for the service.
