A summer's day, a happy and relaxed couple, ceremony in a pretty church in a Surrey town just a few miles from me... sounds like a plan!Claire and Matthew were married at St. Mary & St. Nicholas Church in Leatherhead, Surrey. The church is the oldest building in Leatherhead.
The English Lake District is one of my favourite places, so I was delighted to be asked to photograph Kinga and Shiral's wedding at the Lodore Falls Hotel in Borrowdale. The hotel is right next to the famous waterfall that cascades down the hillside and out into Derwent Water.
When editor Danielle Harvey of Your Surrey Wedding magazine contacted me to ask me to submit some images for possible use in the magazine I was happy to oblige. I didn't think much more about it, but was happily surprised when Danielle got in touch and said that she had selected one of my images for the front cover of the magazine's 60th issue!
Chelsea Registry office wedding
Take a dash of London style, add a splash of Anglo-Indian heritage and then mix in some French joie de vivre, and you have the recipe for Stephanie and Raj’s wedding!
Their wedding was a relaxed and intimate affair with family and close friends in attendance. Stephanie’s family and friends had travelled from France and Raj’s from the UK and from India, so it was quite an eclectic gathering. Kudos to Stephanie’s parents for making an excellent speech in English! (more…)
Now this was a fun party to photograph - for Tom's 50th birthday celebrations his wife Libby had asked everyone to come in fancy dress to match the party's James Bond theme. Some got into the spirit more than others, but there were some very creative costumes...At least two Blofelds (complete with white cat), a scuba diver from "Thunderball", a gold-clad Shirley Eaton lookalike from "Goldfinger", a very creative Octopussy, and a scarily realistic "Jaws" from "The Spy Who Loved Me". And the birthday boy came as Commander James Bond RNVR (who else?)

When Nick contacted me to see if I could come and take some family photographs to commemorate his mother Nicole’s birthday, I was pleased to do so. Often these occasions go by unrecorded, or perhaps only by a few cellphone selfies, which is a shame when it’s an important milestone and family members have travelled around the globe to be there. Many congratulations to Kim & Austin, who were married at the Church of Christ The King in Wimbledon Park a couple of Saturdays ago. When I met Kim and Austin last September to chat about their wedding plans I could tell that they were a relaxed and fun couple. I had a feeling that their wedding day would be equally unfussy - and so it proved to be.
Well there's nothing like winning an award to start a new year off the right way... I was excited to get an email the other day from the organisers of the Wedisson Awards to say I had won the final round of their competition for 2015.

Gate Street Barn is a beautiful and traditional country barn set in the Surrey countryside, with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. The barn is built of oak reclaimed from trees that were felled by the infamous 1987 “hurricane”.
It’s located just south of Bramley, near Guildford in Surrey – it’s one of my favourite venues and also one of the closest!

There can't be many nicer places in the world for a wedding than the English countryside on a perfect summer's day - and that's what Kieron and Lauren were blessed with for their wedding day.The ceremony was at Banbury Register Office, and the reception in the grounds of parents' house in the beautiful Cotswolds village of Marston St. Lawrence.
Spitfire wedding flypast and aerobatic display
On Saturday I was shooting with colleague Chris Perry at a wedding in Hampshire, and around 5pm we (and all the guests) had a big surprise… an aerobatic display by a Spitfire!
The plane flew over from The Fighter Collection at Duxford in Cambridgeshire, and entertained us all with low passes and aerobatic manoeuvres. (more…)
Leatherhead & Surrey Downs wedding | Elle & James
You could clearly see the happiness bursting out of Elle and James as they got married at Leatherhead Register Office – with plenty of family and friends to help them celebrate at Surrey Downs Golf Club afterwards.
The 18th century Mansion in Leatherhead is a very elegant place to get married, with its mahogany panelling and classical style. After the ceremony we went outside to do the official family photos in the gardens, then everybody drove the short distance to Surrey Downs Golf Club for the reception. (more…)
It's always a pleasure to shoot at Nonsuch Mansion in Cheam. This Georgian mansion stands in Nonsuch Park, where Henry VIII used to have a palace in the 16th century. Kate and Martin's civil ceremony took place in the Orchid Room, ably officiated by the registrars from Weybridge Register Office.

If I had to pick one word to sum up this wedding I think it would be "joyful". Weddings are often stressful affairs - there is so much to organise ahead of the big day, and sometimes this carries over into the day itself - but John and Jason and their families and friends sailed through it all very happily, and a hugely enjoyable time was had by all.
