Mayfair Library Wedding – Nina and Hasan
It doesn’t matter whether a wedding is big or small, it’s all about two families coming together… and there is plenty for me to photograph! Nina and Hasan’s wedding was simple and straightforward – a civil ceremony in the Marylebone Room at the Mayfair Library register office in South Audley Street London W1, with some photos in the park afterwards.
They are planning a move overseas quite soon so having a small, intimate family wedding fitted in with their plans.I arrived in time to take some pictures of everybody arriving before covering the ceremony. It was an overcast and drizzly day, but that dampened nobody’s spirits and we were able to get some family group photos, and then some pictures of Nina and Hasan together, in Mount Street Gardens which are conveniently located right next door to Mayfair Library.
When it’s an overcast day like this I often use a small flashgun mounted on a portable light-stand, just to add a bit of “pop” – it’s a subtle effect (I don’t want people to look “floodlit”!) but it helps fill in the shadows. By keeping the flashgun off the top of the camera I avoid that “paparazzi” direct flash look.
Wishing Nina and Hasan every happiness for their future together – and here are a few of my favourite images from the wedding:
