Kingswood Golf Club Surrey wedding | Natasha + Terry

If I had to pick one word to sum up Natasha and Terry’s wedding at Kingswood Golf & Country Club I think it would be “joy”. Not just the couple but everybody present seemed to be having a really good time throughout the day.

This despite the best efforts of the British climate to put a dampener on things! I was hoping the clouds would part at some stage so I could do some photos with Natasha and Terry outside with a bit of sunshine, but it wasn’t to be. Instead it was “umbrellas at the ready” and my trusty AD200 flash unit to provide some “sunshine on a stick”. 🙂

Natasha black and white bride portrait Having the whole day take place at the same venue makes life easy for everybody – including the photographer! No worries about parking at three different locations, or hauling gear around. At Kingswood I was able to park easily and bring my lights etc. in when I needed them.

I started the day with getting ready pictures – commuting from Natasha’s room to Terry’s and back, and down to the bar where guests were arriving.

Natasha’s room had access to a balcony overlooking the golf course so we used that for some portraits of Natasha and also with her bridesmaids. The breeze was quite strong, which allowed me to get a couple of cool shots with Natasha’s amazing veil blowing in the wind, like the image at the top of this page. We had to be careful it didn’t fly away completely!

After the ceremony we had a short period of dry weather which enabled me to do the group photos outside. Later on during the cocktail hour I took Natasha and Terry outside again to get some photos of just the two of them. We did an engagement shoot together a few months ago, which was really helpful. When you’ve photographed a couple before it makes it easier to get the right images quickly, without having to go into great detail explaining posing etc.

Dancing, sparklers and fireworks!

I’ve already mentioned how dancing was a big feature of this wedding – you can see some of my photos of this below, and in the slideshow. But Natasha and Terry and their guests also braved the weather again later on for sparklers and fireworks, which were amazing.
