Guildford wedding photography Manor House Hotel | Tammy & James
This was a nice local wedding for me – Tammy and James were married at St. Luke’s Church in Burpham, and their reception was held at the Manor House Hotel Guildford, Newlands Corner. Tammy got ready at the Manor House as well, so that’s where I started the day with some photos there before heading down the hill to St. Luke’s for the service.
The ceremony was ably conducted by the Rev. James Lavasier – however as his policy is not to allow photography during the service itself (because it’s a small church) I just took a couple of shots of Tammy arriving, the signing of the register, and then of the happy couple as they came out of the church after their wedding. It’s always a good idea to check with your minister in advance to check what they are happy with in terms of photography. I don’t use flash and I put my cameras into “quiet” mode, but will always go along with whatever the minister decides.

After some photos in St. Luke’s churchyard we all headed back to the Manor House Hotel, where drinks were served followed by an excellent barbecue buffet wedding breakfast. In the evening there was a hog roast as well so nobody went hungry!
Family wedding group photos on the terrace
After everyone had had a chance to get a drink and congratulate the happy couple, we did some family group photos on the terrace, and later on I took Tammy and James into the gardens for a short private photo shoot, in the gazebo and under the blossoming trees.
It was a very relaxed and fun day – many congratulations to Tammy and James!
