As you’ll have gathered from recent posts, this time of year is the season when without so many weddings to shoot, I have time to attend workshops and seminars, and get together with other photographers to do practice shoots to try out ideas and brush up on skills… and that’s exactly what I was doing last Thursday in a car breaker’s yard near Dorking!Local colleague Andrew Dobell organized the shoot, gathering a select group of local photographers, models and make-up artists. LJC Auto Spares kindly gave us the run of their breaker’s yard by Dorking West station – we were careful to stay clear of their machines and watch out for sharp edges and heavy stuff of course!
The sun was in and out of the clouds all day, so I took the opportunity to use off-camera flash, something that I don’t usually have time to experiment with very much at a wedding or portrait shoot, where time is an issue.
Here is a selection of my images from the day – as always click on any image to enlarge in a pop-up window. many thanks to all involved – credits after the pictures!
