Ramster Hall Chiddingfold Surrey is a 17th century manor house which has been expanded and updated over the centuries and is now one of the most popular and atmospheric wedding locations in Surrey.
Set in 25 acres of parkland and gardens, it was one of the first private homes to be licensed to conduct civil ceremonies.
The Long Hall, built in 1604, is ideal for wedding breakfasts and receptions, while civil ceremonies take place in the Great Drawing Room. In summer, the Courtyard makes a great location for your guests to mingle while enjoying cocktails and canapés.
I like photographing weddings at Ramster Hall because the mix of the historic buildings and elegant gardens make it easy to find good locations for photographs. And it’s convenient to have your preparations, wedding ceremony and your reception all in the same location, with no worries about travel or parking for your guests.
Ramster is located in the Surrey Hills, just off the A283 Petworth road about half way between Godalming and Petworth (see map below). It is easily accessible from the A3 London to Portsmouth road. Accommodation isn’t available within the house itself, but there are plenty of hotels and guest houses in the surrounding area.
