Leatherhead register office wedding | Lindsey & Drew

It’s not every day you get chased by dinosaurs in the gardens at The Mansion, Leatherhead Register Office… but that’s what Lindsey and Drew wanted and that’s what they got! 😀 They asked me to recreate a famously Photoshopped wedding image by Louisana photographer Quinn Miller, where the couple and guests all flee in terror from a rampaging Tyrannosaurus Rex…

I decided to go one better and include two T-Rexes – one for the bride, one for the groom! I don’t normally do this kind of trick photography but it was fun to put this together in Photoshop, with the help of a couple of stock images from fotolia.com.

Of course I also did some more conventional photos – we started with a “first look” in the gardens, and some portraits of Lindsey and Drew, then went inside for the civil ceremony. After the wedding we came back out into the gardens for family group photos and some more shots with just Lindsey and Drew.

Lindsey is from Phoenix, Arizona, so it was great to have her close family here as well as Drew’s family and their mutual friends. I hope the US visitors found the English weather a nice change from the dryness of the desert! Arizona’s an amazing place (I did a photo road trip there in 2009 and loved it) but it is very dry and hot a lot of the time!

Family wedding photos in the garden

We were quite lucky with the weather in fact – heavy rain had been forecast but thankfully on the day itself it was dry, with just a few drops of rain as we were finishing. The sun came out while I was doing the family group photos, which brightened things up nicely.

As you can see from the photos it was a tremendously happy occasion – Drew and Lindsey were clearly having a great time and it was a pleasure to photograph their Leatherhead registry office wedding!
