Alison and Nick at Weston Park

A couple of weekends ago I was off up the M40 and M6 to Stafford again, to cover a fabulous wedding with my colleague Gill Taylor…

This time the occasion was Alison and Nick’s wedding at Weston Park, a spectacular 17th century mansion set in acres of parkland. The weather had decided to be “British” and it rained all morning – but it stopped in time for the ceremony, and in any case we had the splendid interiors of the mansion to work with, so it didn’t really matter.

Alison and Nick had decided on a “black and white” theme for the wedding – so I decided to make all my images from the day black and white as well. Of course I shoot in colour in-camera, and you get two sets of images (colour and black and white), so you’re not restricted to one or the other! See what you think – I feel it looks timeless and goes well with the historic surroundings:

Smiles and laughter were the order of the day, as you will see…

A string quartet entertained the guests:

A magician amazed (and amused) everybody with his skill and dexterity during the wedding breakfast:

One of the (two) best men..

Rehearsing the first dance:

And then for real:

Many congratulations to Alison and Nick!
